Interesting article, but the author’s argument is not that persuasive to me because the question of whether Sullivan was fair or unfair with Flynn in the past is largely immaterial to the current situation. The idea that Sullivan’s using the Amicus Brief request to expose Van Grack and his cohorts is not credible IMO. If Sullivan’s aim is to effect justice in the most direct way, there’s no need for a big PR stunt to expose the prosecutorial over reach. Simply dismissing the case would be the most direct way of exposing it. Even assuming Sullivan is looking for real justice here, there’s just nothing to be gained by drawing this out to make a point, and it’s not his place to do so anyway.
