“Deaths are plummeting in the USA according to worldometer. These restrictions have to go. We need one state to say there are absolutely no more restrictions.”

Progress.
“Only” 1000 a day.

WE need to open up the economy. No doubt about it. Carefully.

But act like assholes and the number will skyrocket.

Wrong Kozak. Countries who have strict social distancing will have the Coronavirus for a long time as they have no herd immunity. South Korea and China are both trying to stop all cases from occurring and the media fawn over their low CV numbers. But they have to live in tyranny (mandatory cell phone tracking) and they get relapses and outbreaks.

Countries like Sweden that let the virus spread (assholes in your words) should be better be able to move on from this.

Of course the numbers will spike when we reopen. That is inevitable.

The whole purpose of committing suicide with our economy wasn't to stop the virus, or to stop people from becoming ill, it was to lower the peak load on our hospitals so that their limited resources wouldn't be overwhelmed.

We instead are spreading out the number of cases over a longer time. The peak number of infected will be lower, but the area under the curve will remain largely the same.

Well, temporary hospitals were set up and largely went unused and are now being dismantled. The War Materials Act was was invoked, and we will shortly be awash in a sea of excess and unused ventilators. Hospital personnel are being laid off in record numbers, and hospitals themselves are going bankrupt, all because of the lack of patients.

So if the mission was flattening the curve, I'd say...well, I'm not going to say it but I think you can fill in the rest.

Guess what? Auto deaths will increase when we reopen, too.

And your proof is? Georgia opened. Continues to plummet. Go crawl under your bed.

And we can depend on you to decide who is acting correctly and who is acting like an asshole?

The fact that you post self portraits every day on this thread, does make you an expert on how assholes smell, but for you to judge the USA's collective behavior is a stretch.

But act like assholes and the number will skyrocket.

Is that all that's required? How many people do you condemn daily from your posts on this thread alone?
