No, those are two different things. Since after 1996, only once has a Republican won an open Dem Congressional district in CA (Steve Kuykendall), which was in 1998 (this had been a seat that the GOP had likely won in 1994, which would’ve given the GOP a 27-25 majority going into the 1996 elections) when Jane Harman vacated it to run for the Senate. She merely came back and “reclaimed it” in 2000 from Kuykendall.
Yet another statistic where the Republicans continued to be the “victim” of incumbent defeats.
I merely stated that if Mike Garcia wins on Tuesday, it will be another Kuykendall-type victory, but it won’t change the fact that the Republicans have not “been allowed” to explicitly defeat a Democrat incumbent in 26 years.
As I said, this applies to federal races, not statewide. I don’t count “Ah-nold”, not that I would’ve anyway, as I said he was a Demonrat on steroids pretending to be a Republican. I almost was banned from FR 17 years ago for being so vocal in my opposition to his candidacy. Davis was preferable to him and would not have done as much damage to the GOP.
With Newsom’s executive order, it’s largely the final straw that Demonrat voter fraud will be far greater than the last time on top of that corrupt vote harvesting. As someone in this thread said, “Why bother voting at all ? The Dems can announce ahead of time what the results will be.” Maybe they’ll let Kevin McCarthy be the last Republican Congressman from California, at least until 2023 when they’ll take his seat for a 100% pure Demonrat Communist delegation.
