From the man they used to call "the round mound of sound!" The man could blow a trumpet like it was noboby's business.
Autumn Leaves is a good one too.
Enjoy!
Nice. Very distinct sound of an era.
I have one of his albums.
“..and it was one of the few they liked that I liked as well.”
Same here. I was a rocker during the sixties, but HA played and arranged some fine music.
Believe Al did the theme to the “Green Hornet” TV series.
From the spring of 1964.
I liked “MacArthur Park” when it came out for two reasons: Douglas MacArthur was one of my greatest heroes and the song was about Los Angeles.
A&M had some of the coolest stuff in the 60s, including Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66.
This was another great A&M album from that era

‘Grazing in the Grass - Hugh Masekela”
Saw him in a small basement club in Houston back in the day. Great performer.
For me...Kenny Price will ALWAYS be the Round Mound of Sound. I watched his performances for many, many years. I don’t think he was ever really fully appreciated in the country music world.
Then, I met him. And, that confirmed for me that he was NEVER fully appreciated.
Great guy. Great voice.
Outta Space by Billy Preston.
Listen loud.

he did. One of my all-time favorite theme songs. But then I always liked pretty much anything played by Al Hirt.
Thanks for that. Had never heard before..now saved. I was 20 in 68.
Ever heard of Jerry Riopelle?
Nice tune here with great guitar work by David Plenn
