I am losing sleep over thinking about older folks dying (especially in nursing homes) and mismanaged pension funds.
Someone please make me feel better because I can’t seem to shake the thoughts.
It is causing me to lose focus on everything else.
If this don't make you feel better, noting will.
If it’s any help, my 96 yo mom lives in assisted living and two days ago they reported they may have a case and as a precaution residents weren’t even being allowed to leave their apartments (group meals and activites have been suspended for over a month). Word came back yesterday that test results were negative, so they’re back to where they were.
At least this give me encouragement that they are taking proper precautions and detected a possible problem early. The person probably is one of the majority who test negative for covid but have some other kind of flu. Hopefully facilities will be more diligent in keeping people with any symptoms away from vulerable populations in the future.
There are volunteer groups all over doing shopping and no-touch deliver to seniors and I do think care facilities are taking precautions. It’s not the government that will look after our seniors, it’s local people who care about their neighbors and relatives.
Mismanged pension funds, I got nothing there, maybe others do. Try to stay positive.
I have had the same anxiety as you about my elderly friends (70+ years and older).
I keep remembering Q saying "we're watching a movie". I do believe there are people who are dying unnecessarily, see NYC nursing home articles, but I also believe it really isn't as bad as the media and libtards are "projecting" to us.
THAT'S pretty much what is keeping me sane.
Hope this reminder helps. I completely get what you're going through.
P.S.This thought helps too....
"The mind is a terrible thing.....(long pause)......
.......without ALL the facts."
(It was a favorite reminder to me from my Dad. God I miss him.)
Prayer!
Ask God to show you how you can help, even if it is to write a letter to the editor in your local newspaper calling attention to the problem and making people aware.
As God to release you of the pressure you have.
