Straight party line vote. Republicans want to start back up, Democrats do not. My guess is the next step up is a state or federal lawsuit that Gov. Whitmer has overstepped her authority under the 1976 emergency powers law.

I don’t know the details of Michigan’s recall law, but in general such laws are written so that pols can say “we have one!” while being practically impossible to carry out. I am certain it is that way here in GA.

That's only one of the reasons. Had the same number of Republicans showed up to vote as they did for Trump in 2016, Whitmer would not have gotten elected and James would have been in the Senate instead of Stabenow....Instead they stayed home.
