Also, by controlling attendance, she controls what items get acted upon. Like for the negotiations for stimulus 2.0, the whole house came back to vote...AFTER Schmansky Nancy did all the deal making. It's all about how powerful she can make herself look.
My mom died 4 years ago, so I use my Aunt Mary as my religious/moral compass. So far, she keeps telling me it's wrong to hope someone dies. I am getting her to be a bit wobbly on the whole "ya, but if I just wish they got sick, that would be ok, right?" concept though ;).
