Surveillance Cameras cannot distinguish between faces as well unless they are at least 6 feet apart.

It also helps disguise the criminals they’re releasing from the prisons when they “have” to wear masks.
I like the 6ft theory, but they want us to wear masks and burkas too. Thus we need microchipping.
Or...it could be that all those smart medical people and wonderful illustrators who showed us how far a sneeze can travel might have been on to something.
