BREAKING: Perkins Coie appears to have misled the NYT when it told the newspaper in Oct 2017 "that neither the Clinton campaign, nor the DNC, was aware that Fusion GPS had been hired to conduct the research" for the dossier. Steele recently swore under oath the campaign did know— Paul Sperry (@paulsperry_) May 2, 2020

The Clintons are the masters of weasel words. I think that the use of the word “dossier” is what is critical here. Perhaps they were hired to get all the information which went during the summer to the FBI in the form of multiple memos. The word dossier, which I think is a compilation of all the memos, and which McCain sent someone to England to pick up, maybe allows the Clintons, the DNC and the FBI to weasel word themselves out of admitting that they paid for it, in the case of Hillary, or knew about it in the summer, in the case of the FBI.

If you are going by the literal meaning of the words, the information in the dossier is not the dossier itself. I learned about weasel words from the master, Bill Clinton, during the nineties.

I wish we could use the definition of a lie as an attempt to deceive. That would end having liars save themselves using weasel words to maximum benefit.
