“I place it in the center console of the car and wear the same mask each time...Of course it’s 7-10 days between trips to the grocery store. And I go early in the morning before there are many customers and while the air is still fresh. And I don’t wear it for more than about an hour...It can’t be that contaminated, and the virus should be inactivated after that many days anyway.”

Same here, we wear ours for a short time when going out, and then only in low-viron environments.

As to condition of our masks - they’re fine after 24 hours of dormancy, if not less, and they’ll be fine for many weeks, given our very low usage rate. Now if I worked in a high-viron environment, like a hospital, I’d have a whole different answer regarding the continued use of the same masks.

It’s really only the FluBros who claim that a single viron, after sitting on a doorknob for 17 days, will infect and kill them. People who study this virus understand where the threats are, and where they are not.
