I might be able to paint the sky in watercolors. But that’s as far as it would go. The rest would look like someone spilled the rinse water on the paper. <p.

I prefer acrylics. And I suck only slightly less with them.

I don’t have any skill with watercolors, and all my chalks come from a life sketching class, so inappropriate here. But if you have some acrylics you’d like to share, I’d LOVE to see them!!!!!!!!!

Agree incredible place to visit and still so much to be uncovered. Side note: Did you notice the lead pipes for fresh water to go to the houses? All in all many modern people could live in that city and be pretty comfortable.

I have to say I was most amused by the description of the social nature of the public lavatories.

Yes, I saw the “graffiti” in the public toilets and it was hilarious. High school level stuff.

Wonderful, Bazzani’s attention to details is remarkable. And paying homage to one of my favorite composers. This is for you:

Another amazing video! Thank you so much! Loved it!

There was one about halfway through that reminded me of Michelangelo’s David statue.

Thanks, mairdie.
It’s always amazing to contemplate what Pompeii must have been like.

So very pleased!!

There’s a satyr statue in the next video - House of the Faun - that should knock your socks off. (Unless you’re wearing garters, of course.)

That’s what I love about this video. It’s the closest that I’ve come to imagining what their everyday life must have been like. Instead of hanging the art on the wall, they turn the wall into art. One of the descriptions said that there were pots of plastic all over Pompeii as people were repairing damage from the last disaster. Think of the work opportunities for plasterers.
