FYI following up on my prior venture out into the world a week or so ago, I went back out on Friday to go to the bank and the pool supply store, in the midst of warm temperatures in Southern California, just a couple miles away from the cliffs & beaches in Encinitas where they’ve been arresting people for watching the sunsets. A couple weeks ago I was seemingly the last lone person without wearing a mask public ... unfortunately, this time, my experience was not so reassuring. The local Italian deli now bares a sign, “NO MASK NO FOOD” and the bank would not allow me to enter without a mask. I liked the improvement of having plexiglass barriers at the teller’s window as lasting after-the-fact ... but c’mon, people. When I was in line to go up to the teller, a man in front of me, wearing mask & gloves, got visibly upset and got the security guard to come over because I’d inadvertently stepped a foot off the decal now on the floor (while no doubt monitoring “Q” things lol). I couldn’t believe it and told the guy (man but both really), “c’mon, you can’t be serious! It’s hot today! The virus can’t even live for more than a minute anymore” ... to no avail. People were out jogging (alone) wearing masks (do they have any understanding at all how absurd that is?) I was left with an impression that we have crossed some kind of rubicon. What that means fully IDK. TBD + WWG1WGA :)
Same here in Nevada, mid to high nineties and people are out jogging with masks on...crazy.
