The worst I remember was when Arnold Schwarzenegger jumped into California’s Gubenatorial Recall Election to run against Tom McClintock (R) and Bustemante (D). Rush weighed in to warn Californians against Arnold, but Californians were sure Arnold was what California needed. In those days a FReeper could call another a “Tomikaze” and it was just good-natured fun. But to come back with “Schwarzenazi” was, evidently, beyond the pale. Out-of-state FReepers were asked to butt out of the flame wars (to no avail, of course).
History has since borne out how Schwarzenegger governed.
