Yes, hospitals have been laying people off, largely because hospital administrators have curtailed all health care services that are not covid related. That turned out with perfect hindsight to be a mistake because the wave was much smaller than expected.
What I am predicting — and yes, I am contrarian on this — is that demand for health care will come roaring back.
