An old friend who lives in CA just called me yesterday and she is freaking out. Hasn’t worked in two months, is a gig worker (some kind of court reporter stuff for attorneys), can’t pay mortgage, can’t get any kind of stimulus check, is mad at Trump and is a staunch conservative normally.

I used to do proofreading for my sister and other court reporters. I was thinking about getting back into it before the virus hit. I know the work has slowed down in many areas with no depositions or proceedings being held, but your friend might know other court reporters not in California who need help getting their transcripts ready. That might be a way for her to bring in extra income.

All these stories about destroying animals, eggs, milk, and veggie produce highlight the problems created over the past 30 years with our supply chains and distribution networks.
This is the best time to examine alternative (in-country) sources, processing capability, and distribution methods.
Also an excellent time to fire a whole lot of dead weight whose primary objective has been to put Americans out of work.

What problems? An on demand system started decades ago. More efficient.
