Welcome to government run medicine.

Yes. I hope there is a full investigation of this decision because this seems to be the exact opposite of the stated intent of the lockdown and measures imposed to protect others including those most vulnerable from contracting this virus.

What was the rational for this? Who made the decision? Why are homes saying they were “forced” to take the patients back even though they were not set up for isolation?

This makes no sense to me at all. Then again, putting infectious prisoners back out on the street makes no sense either.

Fedzilla changed Medicare regs to allow nursing homes to refuse if the situation warranted. Cuomo ordered them returned anyway. I’m thinking Medicaid has something to do with this, and I’m wondering how many of the patients returned were/are on Medicaid.

BTW, Cuomo and Albany have also protected state nursing homes from WuFlu-related civil and criminal legal action. Anyone know if any other state has done this?

It’s been happening all over the country. I ‘ve paid particular attention to CA nursing homes because I have a dear old friend in one there.
