I write this from New York, so its an argument against my personal interest. But I dont see why people living in a Nashville suburb should not be allowed to return to their jobs because people like me choose to live, travel and work in urban sardine cans.Gina Raimondo, the Rhode Island governor, was on to something when, a few weeks ago, she wanted to quarantine drivers arriving from New York. The rest of America needs to get back to life. We New Yorkers prefer our own company, anyway.
How is a suburb in Nashville returning to semi-normal life “against (his) personal interest”. Because misery loves company? Areas that CAN get back to work doing so is in every Americans best interest. Flattening the curve doesn’t mean complete shutdown, and each state and county should be able to manage their own situations. We need to learn as we go, like how to protect healthcare, eldercare, manufacturing, food processing and supply chains, etc, but we need to get as many folks as we can back to work/life.
