so why did we do this absolutely insane action ....
we accomplished nothing....kids are going to be behind in school, suicides will happen, families will break up, illnesses not addressed because we had to save some frail sickly elderly will result in many more deaths of 40yros....but I guess their lives weren't as important...
no one wants disease to kill people, but I feel that cancer and kidney disease and strokes and mental health are also worthy of being taken care of...
vulnerable...STAY HOME....
The nursing home people DID stay home.
They got infected by their caretakers.
Maybe the ‘vulnerable’ in your city don’t need caretakers?

well, just how many ‘illnesses not addressed’ do 40yo’s actually have? For the most part they’re as healthy as 30yo’ds (USA). Those ‘frail elderly’ built the world you live in. Their lives are no less valuable. And, foundational to western civilization, you’re morally obligated to care about them. A lot of shootings and stabbings and overdoses have been delayed, tho - even the criminals stayed inside - as well as those who use the ER as a day clinic for minor complaints - guess what age group they are?
p.s., nobody has been denied critical to life care. The dialysis centers are still running. Shrinks and docs are available by telemed. Babies are still being born. It’s smart science to delay chemo/radiation/surgery treatments that can be delayed and use that time for the patient to continue to build strength, than to run the risk of catching CCPVirus post-radiation/surgery while the immune system is on the floor. Emergencies are still being taken care of.
