The stats of New York current as of 04/23 (midnight):

Of the 16.162 deaths in New York since the first mortality on March 14:
60% were men, 40% were women

84% of the deaths were age 60 and older

No matter the age, COVID-19 is a serous illness for many people with underlying chronic disease.
14,398 (89%) of those who died had at least one chronic disease, with the top three identified being:
Hypertension - 64% (was 65%)
Diabetes - 42%
Hyperlipidemia - 24%
