Scully, 92, called Dodgers games for 67 seasons, spanning 13 National League pennants, six World Series championships, and a move across the country. He began in 1950 when the team was in Brooklyn. He retired at the end of the 2016 season after 59 years in Los Angeles.
Vin Scully took a fall in his home on Tuesday afternoon. He is hospitalized and is resting comfortably.

Some announcers/play by play guys just became icons, like Scully and Harry Caray. Also, the classic Monday Night team up of Cosell & Gifford.
he’s amazing. wishing him a complete recovery.
Underrated as a Football announcer.
Montana looking, looking, throwing in the end zone........Clark caught it! Dwight Clark! Its a madhouse at Candlestick!
God bless Vin Scully.
Los Angeles had a rich and deep baseball history in the old PCL for decades before the Dodgers arrived.
Longtime Pittsburgh Pirates announcer Bob Prince, several years after getting fired, came back and tried to announce Penguins hockey games.
Total fustercluck. He was absolutely horrible!
You can see L.A.’s Wrigley Field in an episode of The Munsters where guest star Leo Durocher invites Herman for a tryout.
Just listened to Vinnie’s 9th inning - still exciting to hear his call of a perfect game!

As a kid growing up, my dad and all of us boys were die hard Cardinals fans.
I’d listen to KMOX w/Harry Caray for Cardinal night games and my baseball idol, Stan “The Man” Musial - THE most underrated superstar athlete.
Even though I’m right handed, I always batted lefthanded because of Musial.
If I didn’t hate the Dodgers (and LA) with a passion that borders on the psychotic I’d care about him.But I do have such a hatred.
The Cub’s pitcher, Bob Hendley, threw a one-hitter. The lone Dodger hit did not lead to their only run.
“If I didnt hate the Dodgers (and LA) with a passion that borders on the psychotic...”
Never been a big baseball fan or know much about the Cards, but even I know Stan The Man is a classic legend! Like Mantle, Killebrew and many others. Too many to count.
The fall was obviously caused by complications from listening to COVID-19 news. He’s another Coronavirus casualty.
Nope, with one click of your mouse you could learn what "Gay State" means. From there you can figure out what teams I support. :-)
There will never be another Vin Scully. Nobody could ‘take you to the ballgame’ better.
Get well, my friend.
Uh, don't you mean the '88 series and Kirk Gibson's famous home run?
