“I actually own a UV-C meter that I’ve used to test a number
of UV-C sterilization wands, Lamps, boxes, LEDs and
protective eye wear, etc.”
I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but in regards to masks, what happens to any viruses within the parts of the object which isn’t exposed to the UV light?
That is an excellent question, and the answer is:
Nothing.
Any unexposed non-irradiated virus will not be harmed.
I actually think 30 minutes in an Ozone sterilization box is one of the better
solutions for mask sterilization. As a gas, the ozone gets into and sterilizes
all the parts of the mask, inside and out.
Some UVC lamps that radiate in even shorter wavelengths rip the oxygen apart (o2) and make ozone (o1) as well as UV light. If you contain that ozone in a sterilization box with the light, you get sterilization from both effects. ~Easy
