Trump has said that the people in the FBI who do the work are good people. Many of hte higher ups were fired or left (under pressure).
If there were big decision makers in the FBI that are bad still, what does that say about Sessions and Barr? It would mean they are stupid or bad. And that Trump was fooled.

I have, and Trump does have bad people in positions of authority. That doesn’t mean he is stupid, just that he has reasons that are not immediately apparent to us on the outside.
