It’s my understanding that a limit of 6 transfers between accounts is a federal government rule, and not up to the banking institution. If this is fact, its obviously a limit that may have made sense 20 years ago, but is ridiculous in today’s internet climate.

I have not done business with a bank for more than 30 years, but have used 2 federally chartered credit unions which have given me excellent service, including a home mortgage, and have NEVER charged me any fees for routine business (account maintenance, checks or transfers) in all that time.

Membership in my 2 credit unions is limited to certain government employees, but many good ones are available to people just because they live in certain counties or states. It’s definitely worth checking out!

We have at least five accounts at the before mentioned bank and there are multiple transfers each month.

No fees.

Our local S & L is no different than any bank in town and it’s loan rates are really not competitive.
