...and obviously not a “natural” monster. I couldn’t figure out at first (even posted on FReerepublic) my recollection from Med School was Coronavirus are wimpy virus. My texts even said. “Coronavirus are a small family of virus that are THOUGHT TO BE OF NO CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE.” Apparently somewhere around 2000 researchers discovered ways to “manipulate” the virus to produce a Gain of Function. Curiously about the same time Wuhan started having outbreaks every two years, which the world always took to be “China’s problem” and so it was ignored.
