I understand that the death numbers are padded.
That, actually, is one reason I prefer to focus on the CASES CONFIRMED by the RNA testing of specimens. I feel this statistic is the most objective and consistent measurement available for figuring out where we are in this historic crisis. (And it IS a horrid crisis, grievously harming America, even if the hysteria is vastly out of proportion to the actual disease.)
So to the FReeQs who feel this is all blown out of proportion ... I feel your pain. In a medical sense, you have a great case, but that is not getting the country open again. We have a great President now who is obviously a political genius. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is NOT FOOLED by Fauci or anyone else... BUT, he has to call his shots according to the BIG PICTURE, part of which is winning in 2020.
I am not apologizing for delivering the numbers, good or bad; but, I just wanted to say to those people who think I am a doom-spreading TOOL of the dark side or worse, that I am trying to provide the most objective look I can.
God in his wisdom and glory did not see fit to put me in charge of arithmetic.
This daily rate would translate to 900,000 new cases (confirmed by testing) per month.
Assuming that most patients have either died or recovered in 4 weeks, a constant rate of new cases will settle down into a constant death rate unless there are improved therapies. That death rate for the last 10 days would translate to 70K deaths per month ... not good on many levels.
WE NEED THE CONSTANT DAILY GROWTH OF NEW CASES TO BEGIN FALLING.

IMHO, It is good to view them through a lens of God and prayer. He is actively involved in slowing the growth. Even in His Word when God says “Suddenly,” it didn’t usually seem the people would have thought it was sudden.
In view of current events I expect the Chicom perpetrators of this attack on humanity are thinking, “Suddenly our brilliant attack against the Americans is fizzling.” It doesn’t feel sudden as we live through it. But, I am convinced, as our nation turns more and more to God, as we experience more of His companionship and comfort, that He will improve the outcome of chicom virus in better ways than we can ask or think. (And I can ask and think a lot)
The deaths are horrible. And nothing to be joyful about (except for those who’ve graduated to their heavenly reward.) I think your criteria of not charting deaths is an excellent way as a personal stand, to blot out the drama and scare tactics of our enemies.
Hubby and I are making a small effort in our own way. Our 5 grown kids & their families have brought us up to speed on video conferencing in the past month. We get up to 10 or 12 households on 2-3X/week. Invariably some kid or grandkid brings up some drama (usually a media lie,) but our resolution has been to bring a positive Godly stance to each fear that arises - in a reassuring and encouraging way. Fortunately we don’t have any rats or never-Trumpers in our woodpile so that makes it easier.
But my point in comparing our family video is: The small decisions that each of us make to stick with facts and yet choose to keep from glorifying the enemy’s stategies are important to our nation as a whole. We mourn for those who grieve their lost loved ones, but we must not make that the focus of life.
