I don’t think so. There are 3-4 reserves—each one of which could keep the USA in plenty of oil even with increased use—for 400 years. And a new one or 2 were just discovered on the North Slope.

And that does not begin to get into the 3-4 ‘zero-point’ ‘free energy’ technologies that Trump keeps hinting at releasing . . . providing energy out of a suitcase sized unit in home & car—that only would need serviced once a year for about $0.50.
Transition could be brutal if not managed very very well.
Would be a lot of transition jobs but then what?
I still think the benefits would be more than worth it.
Unlimited fresh water; food, clean up pollution etc.
