Well hell, now I’ve got another reason to hate what the Chinese were allowed to do. For those like me who needed a memory refresh, heparin is an anti-coagulant drug that is vital to preventing blood clots and while it has been synthesized, the only source for medical heparin is from animal tissue, primarily pork (porcine).
I also found this disturbing statement: “Heparin purification methods are closely guarded industrial secrets which are not available to the general (scientific) public.”
So not only do the Chicoms control a big part of our bacon, they control a major source of this important drug product and the secret process used to make it.
Hubby just told me from his experience the heparin backorder (in the US) ended at the end of last year.
