Because there’s no money in a $20 cure that’s been off patent for a number of years. Compare that with the cost of Remdesivir which is “new” and on patent. I’ve read $1000/dose.

Hey, IF remdisivir destroys the virus throughout the body, for acute patients, the cost is irrelevant because it is weighed against losing the patient to death. I don’t knock ANY medicine which can save a very serious patient from death. BUT the HCQ cocktail is not aimed at those patients. It is very effective when used early, treating the early diagnosed aggressively. The newest ests will make that treatment be very effective, IF the HCQ is allowed to be written by all physicians in any treatment setting.
