Two areas with the largest coronavirus impacts are those cities that encouraged people to attend Chinese New Year parades in January. Looking at you, Nancy and de Blasio.
BTW, reading an excellent book: “The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History” by Barry.
Reading this book will startle you with the parallels to our pandemic and illustrate why so many professionals were scared by the emergence of this influenza.
One of the hardest hit cities was Philadelphia where the city refused to cancel a parade to sell war bonds. Three days later the hospitals were filled to overflowing and the deaths began shortly thereafter.
Those that claim there is no precedence for the current restrictions will be surprised to learn of the measures that were taken against that influenza, far in excess of what we see today.
Can those of us who weren’t close to normal in the first place just go back to being that?
Please.
*IF* one even believes that the government should have the power to impose Martial Law ( a big “if’, IMHO) there has never been a more apt time to go full Duarte.
