Two more sailors test positive for coronavirus aboard the USNS Mercy-3 total

Two more sailors have tested positive for the coronavirus aboard the USNS Mercy, a Navy hospital ship docked at the Port of Los Angeles, making for three crew members who have been taken to shore and into isolation.

One crew member tested positive on Thursday, April 9, and another had a confirmed positive test returned on Friday, April 10, said Navy Lt. Joe Pfaff.

The three are being isolated in a military medical facility. Any crew members who had contact the sailors have also been isolated and removed from the ship.

From the DM article (n.b. - it is a DM article, and they have a documented history of misstating quotes and making up ‘stuff):

“Truck driver Josh Rickards, who owns a fleet of three tractor-trailers, told Yahoo Finance that the drivers who lease under his authority can’t be convinced to take a job that requires them to travel to New York City, the epicenter of the outbreak.

‘I mean, no one really wants to go there. Everyone’s afraid of going there and being in a position where they actually contract the virus themselves,’ Rickards said.”

Just food for thought - there will be brave truckers that will go to NYC. Between increased pay, PPE and careful behavior, there will be brave truckers that will go.
