Here’s a suggestion: rather than a daily CV thread, perhaps we should begin running an over-under thread predicting future FR retirements? As noted above, while the true believers work through negotiation, there will be periods of anger & lashing out. That’s to be expected, so go ahead and get it out of your system.
But then comes depression, resulting from disappointment that the zombie apocalypse didn’t occur, as well as the dawning realization that the posting history from your ‘nick will be used against you by more aggressive FReepers. And so comes acceptance, when a new ID is created, and a brand new persona is invented and launched to the world.

please go back and quote the posts where I “hoped” it would be really bad...
I, and others, are just are just posting the info in real time

Omg, what an a@@
They’re just making crap up.
It’s what they do.
Clearly it’s more than the head cold they initially believed.
I’ve said repeatedly that playing ‘resident evil’ is not how I want to spend spring.
I have things to do, people to see, places to go and a business I’d like to start. Can’t do any of that shut down.
“please go back and quote the posts where I hoped it would be really bad...”
They have to claim that preemptively so that (they think) we can’t call them on their insouciance. Since it looks like the mitigation is making a difference (hopefully) it won’t be as bad as the “if we do nothing” scenarios, but they will ignore the fact that it will only get as bad as however it gets, instead of much worse, because of all the measures they opposed.
No doubt they’ll try to claim credit somehow for beating the virus.
Wait until they realize the economic crash and new great depression they are hoping for didn’t happen.
