Even 9/11 didn't cause the sheer hysteria we have seen here. This crisis is unparalleled in my lifetime. I can only wonder about the panic after Pearl Harbor, but I have to imagine that it was short-lived.
Another difference is that Obama would get the full support of the Media--while Trump can count on them trying to subvert his efforts at every turn.
