What's in store for the Year of the Rat? Hong Kong's most famous fortune teller reveals all

***** Feng shui can be used to decode the energy of a place but it shouldn't dictate where travelers should or shouldn't go, he says. "According to feng shui readings, destinations east of China, such as Taiwan, central Japan and the west coast of the United States, are overshadowed by a major star of illness this coming year. It means it is more prone to man-made and natural disasters. "But you won't be able to tell when it will strike. It shouldn't deter you from exploring places you want to go -- just pay extra attention when you're going to these places." So's no.1 travel tip, however, is completely unrelated to feng shui: "Bring your shabby suitcase and clothes with you so you don't draw too much attention to yourselves -- you can pretty much walk everywhere in the world with that combo."

*****

Looking for a romantic relationship? The good news is that your love luck from last year will linger on till April 4, 2020. Relationships that can last until May have a real chance of becoming long-term. Now for the bad news. People born in the year of the rat will offend Tai Sui, the star representing the presiding god this year. You may find yourself prone to negative thoughts and more disruptions in life, such as accidents. To alleviate the impact, you should travel more in 2020 and consider donating blood to avoid spilling blood by accident. But it isn't all bad. You should be able to accumulate some wealth, especially if you're self-employed or an entrepreneur.

I was wondering about 2020 being the Chinese Year of the Rat and found this article.

And from CNN no less.

The reason I posted this was the focus on travel, illness, blending in, and even donating blood.

Feng shui is a lot of baloney from a very old culture. The Chinese have a PATHEON of gods:
Pan Gu – The God of Creation.
Nüwa – The Goddess of Humankind.
Fuxi – The God for Knowledge.
Guan Yin – The Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. Gonggong – The Water God.
Yu the Great – The Demigod.
Hou Yi – The God of Archery.

https://owlcation.com/humanities/chinese-mythological-gods-characters

Kitchen god, garden god... you name it.
The Hindus are much the same. They have some 300 MILLION gods which can be human form, animal form, ANY form. When my husband and I visited India my dear sweet husband was ABSOLUTELY SURE that some Hindu was worshiping a '56 Chevy!
Some Hindu women made their husband a god.

The Chinese BOUND the feet of their wealthy women because TINY feet were the best. When those girls grew up they couldn't walk of course.
They also dumped their daughters because SONS were the ONLY babies to have.
When amniocentesis became available they aborted the baby girls before they were born.

The consequence of that was that poor men had no women to marry due to their murder of female fetuses. Those poor men who couldn't afford a rich bride couldn't marry. They were called the "Bare Branches."

Of course, the Hindus didn't do much better. Widows had to commit SATI, that is, throw themselves into the funeral fire of their dead husband.

The "year of the rat" is just more examples of the Chinese "religion."

We are SO darn BLESSED to be born here. God bless the USA!

Uh, yeah, I know that.

This article was posted on CNN on January 26th of this year...meaning BEFORE we were all aware of what is happening now and the not-so cryptic claims.

Instead this thread has consisted of everyone missing the point.

I saw no point to miss.

Except the point that CNN published an article on January 26th promoting the idea that people should travel despite illness, travel in a fashion so you will go unnoticed, and donate blood too.

What are your thoughts on that (CNN article, not Chinese astrology)?

Some Hindu women made their husband a god.

These women need to be brought to the US and be given a podcast for American women to get a hint.

Please tell me, exactly, word for word, how what I wrote doesn't make any sense.

Year of the Rat brings pestilence, disease, hiding at home.

Travel now? That is so counterproductive. What were the CNN staff thinking? It seems to be deliberately provocative.
Flying in a plane now is the epitome of being close. Airports are studies of congestion and close contact.
I wish someone would sue CNN for their remarks. They were BEYOND stupid. They bordered on traitorous.

As for donating blood, well the blood banks are open. Those who have the courage to give blood now...more power to them.
I loathe needles and haven't given blood for as long as I can remember. I won't ever give blood again. I have B+ blood and I plan on keeping every drop until the day I die.

Any more questions?

The "year of the rat" is Chinese mythology, religion and culture...all proven to be SOOOO wonderful, safe, productive and enlightening. Isn't that so? They DO have a very strange view of the world. Being an OLD culture does NOT, contrary to THEIR world-view, make them valuable, venerable or valid.

They DO produce beautiful things and, for me, that validates their continuing existence. There's never enough beauty in this world.

And please don't post photos of beautiful women. They WILL all grow old, wrinkled and hard to look at. Probably fat too.

Literally gods for every block on a street.

There is NO way that the average Joe can keep up with all their gods. It's ludicrous. But, they WILL hang on to their culture, no matter how many lives are ruined.
They won't change. We'll see another "pandemic" in the not-so-far future.

They need a religion which is GOD-centered, not China centered.
