I am in a very small town in AZ, in the mountains. Two and a half hours from Phoenix metro area. We have been inundated with part-timers who fled the city. Poor cable guy has been swamped. People can’t live without their internet.

Last night one of these neighbors just happened to stop by. My sweetheart went out to do the chores and he had to follow along. I could hear them talking just outside the house after awhile. I called my sweetheart to “rescue” him and give him an excuse to get away. Funny thing was, his phone was on speaker so the visitor heard. He left shortly after. LOL

We have been able to get supplies, fortunately I try to keep a good pantry all the time. I bought my seeds for my garden early and am getting an early start with seedlings growing in the greenhouse. I also managed to get my beets, turnips, lettuce, kohrabi, spinach and peas going. Now I am just praying for some warmer weather.

Don't you just hate when that happens?

Y'all are in a good situation. I recognize it's harder for people accustomed to urban living to do this pandemic exercise. But the only thing out of the ordinary about my spring has been that I used gloves and hand sanitizer when getting my gas during my 6 hour drive to Arkansas to babysit the great-grandbaby. I came home when we knew all was well there. I've got my garden out. I want more tomatoes than I have but I think I say that every spring.

This poor lady next door is to be pitied but she doesn't want suggestions. Thinks she's got the world by the tail. She cut down every tree on their lot after I mentioned I keep a gun on me for snakes. There were some lovely old live oaks. And does anybody doubt that shade trees are a great value in Texas? And just cause you cut down trees don't keep snakes of your 4/10 acre. RME
