I don’t think filling a Walmart packed with people like it is Black Friday so they can wonder around looking at all kinds and non-essential or semi-essential items spreading a virus is the way to go

I was in our walmart today. And our ShopRite. And our Rastellis. I bought things I needed regardless if they were deemed essential by anyone else.

The stores I went to today were far from packed.
One of my daughter’s is a BSN at a philly hospital that is laying off doctors and nurses because capacity is at 20% since all “non-essential” surgery isn’t happening. So now we have many doctors and nurses and techs and other staff laid off. And don’t even give me that nonsense about they can go where they are needed. They can’t. Licensing prohibits that.
And if she’s in a hospital for over 12 hours per day then coming home to us who have to work at home, umm, yeah, we’re exposed either way.
And the doctors and nurses that stay have to take forced time off without pay if they aren’t laid off.
What do I think? I think many areas in this country are taking advantage of the power grab and the result is going to be devastating all around.
And I will continue to shop for my “non-essential” items since online ordering is a month behind as it is now and deal with whatever consequences result.
Quarantine those who are vulnerable and let the rest of us get back to living life. Life that has no safety and security other than what we provide ourselves.
