Wish we heard more from our ex-pats about their situations.
Lot of them on FR.

‘It comes in waves’: Those who have recovered from ‘mild’ cases of COVID-19 describe harrowing, unpredictable illness

The range of symptoms and uneven path to recovery has been documented by physicians.

“People seem to do better over the first few days, then there’s this second wave that comes,” said Dr. J. Samuel Pope, director of the medical intensive care unit at Hartford Hospital.

“There is this sort of twin peak,” he added. “Even our patients we’ve had in our hospital who have been there the longest, they seem to get better and then there’s worsening that occurs.”

Craven’s uneven path to full recovery mirrors that of Carol Engelman, who also contracted COVID-19. Both Engelman and her sister, state Rep. Jane Garibay, fell ill in March.

In a video posted on Facebook on March 25, Engelman described the progression of the illness. “I started it off with feeling a little lightheaded,” she said. “Within an hour, I had a temperature and I was in bed with body aches that were beyond my thoughts.”

Engelman, of Windsor, characterized her case as mild, with a fever that broke quickly and a low-level cough. But even in its less potent form, the virus packs a wallop, she said.

“I was exhausted,”

I’ve watched more than a few videos of them and tracked a few dozen besides, FReepers excepted.

The main theme at first, I don’t have to worry, it won’t happen here, America just can’t handle this and should be more like China (several versions of this line). Then, second, why isn’t the US airlifting us, how dare they: make us wait, charge us for rescue, make us quarantine, make us find our own transportation home from the intake airport, don’t they know how important we are?
The younger ones being the most obnoxious. And the most apt to not have heeded warnings a month ago to get stateside before travel started shutting down. One idiot came here the day before we shut flights to his country of choice. Pulled a quarantine, then, strongly expressing glory for his country of choice and promoting America as incompetent racists and dangerous, turned around and flew back to his country of choice for yet another quarantine. To get out to another lockdown at their apt. In a city running out of food and with hatred encouraged in the locals on the street for anything American. Those caliber expats. Some of them with their own youtube channels devoted to ridiculing all things American.
