Morons on parade here. A bunch of workmen and their little kids next door to do “essential” deck work. Supposed to be here for several days. Maybe they can get the nail salon ladies to come out and give them an essential pedicure.
During Y2K one of the prepper “last resorts” to deal with idiots was to put red ribbons in an X mark on the front door with a handwritten sign that said “Quarantine”.

The problem is the general dearth of PPE relative to demand, not frugal budgets. Clueless hospital administrators playing control freak games are just making things worse. They can’t make anything better.
Where are they going to get them. It’s not like there a shelves of them waiting to be bought.
