SWITZERLAND

Switzerland is one of the countries most affected by the coronavirus, with more than 18,000 positive tests and over 490 deaths.

Here’s the latest:
As of April 2 (3pm), 18,072 people have tested positive and 497 people have died, according to an aggregate of cantonal statisticsexternal link.

On April 2, the Swiss head of infectious diseases Daniel Koch indicated that the peak of the outbreak had not been reached but that the upward progression was not as steep as in previous days. “It is still too early to make a reliable forecast of how things will look in the coming weeks,” said Koch, adding that it was “certainly too early” to relax measures.”
