You sent me down another rabbit hole with the Spanish Flu and Xenophagy leading to ferroptosis from viral infection. I was wrong. I knew ferroptosis was a cellular survival mechanism, however I didn't know about the primary cause in viral infection. This takes us back to Parkinson's as primarily a failure of normal autophagy. Best.
