I mean, if we didn’t win...who would write the book? Ha ha.
There have been episodes on the news that are directly out of “The Stand.”
(Except the reporters were heroic in the book.)
There was one chapter that really stood out to me in “The Stand”. It blew my mind at the time, I remember I read this chapter twice.
It was after Captain Trips had killed 99.9% of Mankind, and then deaths not related to the Super Flu were described.
Things such as a young girl going down into her basement cooler to have dinner with her family, they were dead, and the cooler door latching behind her, and that was it, she’s done.
Or a person riding his motorcycle down a country road or so, lost control, had an accident, tumbled down the side a bit and broke his leg. And there he stayed until he died.
So far, IRL, we have not resembled this chapter.
