I truly wish I could sit down with President Trump and let him know what we know. I know you think he knows it, and Fauci and the rest but they are not following the treatment that has lead to so much success, you have to treat BEFORE pneumonia set’s in. This mean no ventilator will be needed most likely, which reduces cost, exposure to doctors and nurses, it’s so smart to treat BEFORE pneumonia.
I really think it comes down to pride, have you ever told a doctor what you thought they had or recommend they treat with you a certain drug? They freakin’ hate that, they’re the experts.
Well, all I can do is prey now. Ten’s of thousands are going to die needlessly, how tragic. This will probably go down as one of the largest preventable disasters this nation has ever incurred. First, by not shutting down plane travel, second, by not treating this disease with the recommendations that have already proven to be very effective. So many lives ruined.
The editors of the NEJM are well aware of the public’s concern. NEJM has had THE HIGHEST reputation of any medical publication since 1811. That’s right 200 YEARS. They aren’t a “throw away”. Most of their editors are Chairmen at Mass General. I’m sure they are well aware of Dr Raoult’s work and more than a few are familiar with his reputation.
In this time of National Crisis I’m sure if Raoult convinced them they will step up today.
