The flu absolutely causes ARDS I’m vulnerable people. Additionally ARDS is tissue disease (lungs become stiff) not obstructive disease (crap in the airways). This is dubious at best. Finally 90 % are brief and self limited with critical illness in less than 1% of all comers.
