Suuuuuuure. Just like massive vaccination had nothing to do with the elimination of smallpox and the near elimination of polio and measles. Just like all the IT people working overtime in 1999 had nothing to do with the non-event of the Y2k bug.
Actions have consequences. In this case, the action is to stay away from other people, and the consequence is to avoid millions of deaths.
The complacency of people who live in a relatively infectious disease-free world and who understand nothing of the behind the scenes work that makes it that way is astounding.
There is zero comparison to either of those things. We know vaccines prevent disease. We know programs are fixed by programmers.
We also know throughout history that quarantines work. That is quarantines of the sick and of people coming in from an outside area that might have the infection. There is nothing in history that says people have to stay at home, shelter in place, etc. to combat any infection. So you’re assuming that some novel theory cooked up a week ago has already been proven to be 100% valid. That’s the same thing they tell us about the global warming models.
What has been proven is that the South Korean model for fighting COVID-19 worked better than almost every other country’s model so far. And it did NOT include the widespread shutdowns happening here or any law enforcement going after healthy people for leading their lives. If an infected person was known to go to a store, they closed the store to clean it and reopened it. People were advised to stay at home, but not forced to.
There is no reason our governors or President need to do anything different than what South Korea did. The South Korean model works.

This virus hasn’t done anything anywhere to indicate that millions could die. If it is deadly in any great sense it hasn’t shown it yet and it has had all the time in the world to do so starting out. When a real killer comes along no one is saying could or might or maybe...they’re too busy burning their dead.
