Just like 40% of everyone died during the Ebola outbreak of 2015, which had a 40% death rate? And everyone is dead from rabies, which has a 100% death rate?
FYI, case fatality rates (CFR) are based on the numbers of cases. I do a simple death rate calculation because there are still active cases, soI do not have the necessary information to calculate the CFR. You can do a death rate calculation yourself:
Number of deaths divided by number of cases, multiplied by 100 to get a percentage.
Historically the driver of a societys level of response to a disease is the number of corpses piling for all to see. THAT drives the measures being taken, or it used to. Now we play what if like a bunch of scared children. I am 61 and I, most assuredly, do NOT feel as invulnerable as I have in the past. That being said, what we are doing to ourselves is monumentally stupid.
