Japan is planning to ban foreign nationals from entering from the United States and most of Europe, as well as from the remainder of China and South Korea, to contain the spread of the new coronavirus, government sources said Monday.

Some areas of China and South Korea such as Hubei Province and Daegu as well as more than 20 European countries had already been subject to an entry ban imposed by Japan.

It’s a safe way to operate in these days and times.

Wonder how it’s going to affect all their incoming shipments...

Good. I agree. Tokyo is still pretty much business as usual today.

Japan has managed to keep the rate of infection low in spite of having some very densely populated cities with crowded subways, and having been overrun with Chinese tourists prior to February of this year.

There is very little handshaking or hugging in Japanese culture, just bowing. I also find myself wondering if this could have something to do with their very elaborate toilets. I don’t want to be overly graphic, but everything has been thoroughly cleansed in Japan long before toilet paper is ever deployed.

Good for Japan!

I’m kind of surprised it hasn’t been done already.

It is odd how this invisible virus shows us a value to nationalism, in an age where it has become a dirty word.

We should not be so quick to dismiss our nature for living in families, clans, communities, regions and countries.

I’ve been predicting for weeks that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better here in Japan . Testing still low but higher since the 2020 Olympics was postponed !
