Pulling this stunt in Maine where most are disarmed is one thing - doing it here in Texas would likely get the would-be vigilantes killed in a hail of semi-auto rifle fire.

You certainly don’t know much about Maine.
People in Maine are VERY heavily armed....Maine is one of the biggest Second Amendment / gun owning states in the country. Maine is also the safest state in regards to crime statistics.
Unlike Texas, Maine is a Constitutional Carry state....no permit required. Also Open Carry.
Constitutional Carry passed the DEMOCRAT controlled Maine House in 2015. Then the Republican Senate. Our then governor....conservative Paul LePage....held up the bill because it allowed only those 21 or older to carry without a permit. His complaint was, “What about members of the military under the age of 21?” Changes were made to accommodate the governor’s concerns.
In 2016, Michael Bloomturd managed to get enough signatures for a ballot measure to ban the private sales of guns in Maine. It was on the November 2016 ballot, and some of the police chiefs in Maine did TV ads...in uniform....in favor of Bloomturd’s measure.
The elected sheriff’s of Maine also did TV spots....in uniform....opposed to Bloomturd’s measure.
Election night 2016....Trump won Maine’s 2nd Congressional District....80% of Maine’s land mass.... by 10 points for one electoral vote. Bloomturd’s gun grabbing measure was rejected by the Maine people.
