A friend needed to take his grandmother to the hospital in Spokane, WA to have something done to her port (?) having to do with ongoing cancer treatment. When she called to make the appointment the hospital said “do not come here” and transferred paperwork to a rural hospital 40 miles to the north.

Ports have to be flushed weekly (i think) so they dont plug up and get infected. I get infusions for an auto-immune disease similar to Lupus and my veins are shot. Was thinking about a port but now Im going to hold out as long as I possibly can.
You are wise to put it off, if you can. Better safe than sorry, you just don’t know what’s really going on these days.
Not when my wife had one for chemo. She went every third week for chemo for a year and a half.
I have a port for my lymphoma treatments. It must be flushed every 2 months if not getting regular infusions and is a lifesaver if you have poor veins. Would do it again but I pray my treatments will be done in June and I will no longer need it.
