NYT (yes, I know) is posting counnty and state data in CSV form (importable directly into your spreadsheet or database of choice) on Github:

They do a good job with data and there are maps on their main site and you only have to verify an email address for access, no paywall. I’m sure they’ll be dropping little notes in my Inbox but I have a delete key for that.
