You sound like me, just didn’t know my normal lifestyle was called “shelter in place” ;-) I wear a pair of fabric gloves in the store and take them off as soon as I’m back in the car which I know is clean, then straight into the wash when I get home. I figure if you treat everything outside your control as contaminated you won’t go wrong and it won’t get in.
The Wunderground map makes it clear, if you zoom out, how well correlated the virus is with population density. I think in time we’ll learn it’s even more correlated with mass transit - hard to imagine a better incubator than a box jammed with people breathing the same air and touching the same surfaces.
KSAT in San Antonio TX reported the first COVID-19 death there. Except it wasn’t. It was an elderly lady in hospice care who died from pneumonia. Lots of this going on. Be careful who you follow.

I have a box of fold over sandwich bags in the car. Handy as gloves for small-handed people at the pumps or bank keypads!
