Large Chinese population areas is definitely a reason, and even more so if some are trying to infect others as linked above.
I also think Trump is doing the right thing, virus is not nothing, but I also think the media and Demsheviks want it to kill people and seem even worse than it is, to take Trump out.
Just heard my best friend’s BIL is in hospital on oxygen from virus. He is at least 70 and has had other health problems this winter.
And wouldnt the Mardi Gras be the perfect venue to infect the most people. And I actually said I wondered if they did, not that they definitely did.
Just a dumb FYI. Ironing your dollars kills microbes.
And I learned this abt 30 years ago. One of dtrs friends became seriously ill and after being hospitalized for a blood infection she became germophobic. She’s ironed all her paper money since. She works at a bank. Started off out of high school as a teller. She’s a commercial real estate VP now. Still irons her personal dollars but gets a lot of ribbing from me. Not so much this month. I dug out my dollars and began ironing in Feb.
Weird, isn’t it. Rogue missile, check. Huge number of cv patients, check....
Great reporting, I was going to ask if youd made it out and about after seeing your post on the IL thingy.
I might waltz over past alexian brothers and see whats up.
Money stinks though, it would stink up the iron - uv light? Putting in oven?
DH keeps bills in a ziplock bag because they’re so nasty.
I’ve always loved country living. It’s never bothered me to be an hour from a city.
We are in central Texas. But like you say, this is in those cities now and I’m watching my area to keep up. There are a lot of city people who have their “play ranches” in our counties and I expect some are escaping to the country. As simple as it seems I’m keeping those gals at Dollar General and the one gas station in our area in prayer. In our area those are the frontline people who will contact what the city folks bring. Honestly unless I go for milk-in-a-jug, we could hole up for months. But a lot of our friends and neighbors can’t.
I did not notice a money stink when ironing. Tho I only did it once. Haven’t been out to spend what I ironed! LOL
thanks. FYI...I walked into a Central DuPage entrance where the check-in security guards sit, to go to the hospital’s Walgreens.
It was closed and had moved to another location.
No civilians in the lobby cept me. No patient visitors were allowed.
They were triageing people before they could even enter the hospital proper.
They had tables with people sitting behind them asking questions of people who came in.
They had yellow tape on the floor you were to stand behind to talk to them. No signs saying that.
The tape was about 20 feet away. She was a soft talker and I can’t hear. Good combo.
Questions like fever\headache\chills\in contact with anyone with the virus.
If I had said yes, I wonder if I would have gotten tested and\or quarantined.
thanks for that. My wife is already referring to me as felix...
Similar to what is being reported here.
Very interesting. Did you consider getting tested just because or are we not there yet?
I mean do we not yet have the capability to test everyone vs those with symptoms? I swear I cant keep up with the ever changing landscape of this.
I mostly wonder why the heck I moved back to this lovely state
Good friend who is an EMT in a suburb of Portland, Oregon said they are slammed and he says "it's real".
A friend needed to take his grandmother to the hospital in Spokane, WA to have something done to her port (?) having to do with ongoing cancer treatment. When she called to make the appointment the hospital said "do not come here" and transferred paperwork to a rural hospital 40 miles to the north.
One more...relative in large, metro area of NC tried to take grandson to the ER (crashing on bicycle) they wouldn't even let them in the ER. She threw a fit, hospital aid/nurse came out. She said parking lot was close to empty but they are not letting visitors in. Told her to go to a rural hospital ER that was about one hour away.
All anecdotal but all people I trust. Take it for what's worth.

One also needs to take in to consideration is that there should be no elective surgeries, hospitals do a ton of them, that is why little traffic, also they are making people go to walk in clinics. And they are using phones now to do Dr pt. interviews. So ya, there should be less traffic.
From my prior experience the public does not see the stuff we see in ICU so they thing it is no big deal when it really is to those effected.
I consider it a real war, economically and biologically.
JOURNALISM ON THE VERGE OF BANKRUPTCY
I went into the hospital to go to their Walgreens. I figured if the hospital had mask supplies replenished, probably so did Walgreens and maybe I’d get lucky on the alcohol and TP.
I’m just speculating about why they asked the questions. Probably more to do with whether to allow me into the hospital or not.
